Has anyone read the book Memoirs of a Geisha Girl?
It truly is one of my favorites. And to be here in Japan...Wow... How could we not take a side trip to GION, Kyoto!
We walked through the charming historical stoned streets of Gion. Surrounded by amazing temples that I only imagined in the book. I sat down and closed my eyes. I took in the fresh scented air of incense. This sweet aroma captured an innocence I once knew well.
Do you know what a "hen-shi-maiko" is?
Here they say, "Why don't you come to Kyoto to Maiko your dreams come true"!!!

Ken & I are going to spend the weekend down in Auburn with Ted. After our "drive-thru" flu shots in Loyalton on Saturday a.m., we'll head on down. Of course we'll get some golf in on Saturday & Sunday. Ted says he's planning a big party -- we'll see! But don't worry, we'll take care of him!
